Our firm was organized in 1929 by Frank P. Buck, an attorney and CPA. On September 30, 1947 William A. Sherrill, CPA and George C. Smith, CPA purchased the accounting business from their employer Mr. Buck and continued to operate as Frank P. Buck Company until September 30, 1957 when the name was changed to Sherrill & Smith. On September 8, 1995 the firm became a Limited Liability Partnership and the name was changed to Sherrill & Smith, LLP. On October 1, 1999 the firm incorporated as a Professional Association and the name was changed to Sherrill & Smith, CPAs, PA as it remains today. Since 1929 there have been 12 principals or members of the firm with the present ones being Jerry D. Freeman, CPA, J. Richard Driscoll, Jr. CPA, and Richard W. Musselwhite, CPA.
